Dr. Sérgio Barbosa (University of Graz) is conducting research at the Chair of Political Science (Prof. Dr. Lars Rensmann) together with Dr. Arthur Oliveira Bueno. Barbosa’s project explores how digital literacy can help address disinformation by fostering critical thinking and responsible engagement with digital platforms. A particular focus lies on perspectives and experiences from Brazil and the Global South.
Dr. Tariq Daradkeh (Yarmouk University, Jordan) is a visiting researcher at the Chair of Computer Science with a focus on Computer Networks and Computer Communications, headed by Prof. Dr. Hermann de Meer. His research examines digital twin technologies, virtual representations of real-world systems that can simulate and optimize their behaviour in real time. The project aims to support the management of IoT applications in future 6G networks and advance digital transformation processes.
Prof. Dr. Camilo Peña-Ramírez (Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile) is collaborating with Dr. Stefan Mang at CENTOURIS, the University of Passau’s institute for applied tourism research. His project investigates how digital platforms can contribute to more inclusive and sustainable tourism development. Through case studies in Chile and Brazil, he explores how digital solutions can empower local stakeholders and improve tourism governance.
