Organizers: Chair of Sociology (Prof. Dr. Karin Stögner, Elke Rajal), International Insitute for Education and Research on Antisemitism
Titled “Hate in Transition and the Aftermath of 7 October: Antisemitism and Racism in Times of Political Crisis” the conference will bring together critical voices to examine the evolving forms of antisemitism, racism, and political extremism in the context of global crises. The conference brings together scholars from a range of different fields such as sociology, history, political science, and cultural studies to share comparative perspectives, and research findings. A key goal of the network is to connect the study of antisemitism and racism, while also recognizing their unique characteristics and historical backgrounds. It aims to foster critical dialogue on how forms of hate shift, intensify, and intersect in times of social and political upheaval. Participants can expect thought-provoking discussions spanning history, conceptual frameworks, and current sociopolitical challenges.
