Dr. Tali Hadasa Blank from Tel-Hai University (Israel) was a guest at the University of Passau as part of a PICAIS Research-in-Residence Fellowship. During her stay, she worked together with Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort (Chair of International Management and Social Entrepreneurship) on her research project on sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation processes. Her research focused on how young companies integrate sustainability goals and how institutional frameworks influence their development. Through a comparative perspective on Germany and Israel, her project provided new insights into the relationship between sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurial activity.
Dr. Sérgio Barbosa, Ernst Mach Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Graz and Junior Researcher at the University of Brasília, was also a guest at the University of Passau as a PICAIS Fellow. In collaboration with Dr. Arthur Oliveira Bueno and Prof. Dr. Lars Rensmann (Chair of Political Science with a Focus on Comparative Government), he explored strategies for digital education aimed at fostering a reflective approach to combating misinformation. His interdisciplinary research approach combines perspectives from digital literacy, education research, and sociology, examining how educational initiatives, particularly in the Global South, can empower young people to engage critically with digital information environments.
Through their research projects and expertise, Dr. Tali Hadasa Blank and Dr. Sérgio Barbosa enriched academic exchange at the University of Passau and contributed to strengthening the international networking of the research community.
