The event was held in a hybrid format. Prof. Dr. Florian Töpfl, Chair of Political Communication with a focus on Eastern Europe and the post-Soviet region, gave the opening speech. The event was attended by university staff, students, Passau citizens and an online audience. After the lecture, everyone had the opportunity to ask questions about the research topic.
Researcher Olena Melnykova-Kurhanova presented the results of her study from the project "Public Communication in a City under Attack: Russian's Informational Influence on the Citizens of Mariupol". She shared her own experiences during the siege of Mariupol and presented a study based on interviews with Mariupol journalists who suffered from the siege and information blockade.
