Spring 2026 Funding Round – Announcement of Approved Applications and Funded Events

Following the conclusion of the spring funding round, we are pleased to present the approved PICAIS Fellows and funded events. We sincerely thank all applicants for their outstanding submissions, which reflect the high standard of the projects proposed.

A total of six fellowships has been granted. The selected fellows will conduct their research projects at the University of Passau in 2026 and 2027, further strengthening academic, interdisciplinary, and particularly international collaboration.

The following fellows and their projects were selected:

    University of Ilorin, Nigeria
    Research Project: Digital Agriculture Platforms and the Politics of Knowledge: Data Governance, Platform Power, and Inequality in Global Food Systems
  • Dr. Haydar Izzettin Kepekci
    Istanbul Gelisim University, Turkey
    Research Project: Immersive Visual Analytics for the Identification of Turbulent Flow Structures in CFD
  • Dr. Jaume Llorca Galiana
    University of Alicante, Spain
    Research Project: Editorial content and commercial communication in the digital environment: Regulatory gaps and competitive distortions under European law.
  • Prof. Dr. Luis Alberto Pérez Amezcua
    Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico
    Research Project: Between Pity and Tenderness: Disability, Ethics, and Narrative in Recent Ibero-American and German-Language Literature and Film
  • Dr. Maria Alejandra Regúnaga
    Universidad Nacional de La Pampa, Argentina
    Research Project: Computer-assisted analysis and digitalisation of legacy materials on three dormant languages of Tierra del Fuego (Argentina/Chile)

Within the PICAIS Event Funding programme, three workshops have been approved to promote exchange among international scholars and to strengthen dialogue on key academic and societal issues.

We look ahead with anticipation to the upcoming research stays and events and sincerely thank all applicants once more for their interest and engagement in the autumn funding round.
