Dr. David Sládek is a Researcher and Lecturer at the Defence University, Czech Republic whose research bridges environmental science, data analytics, and security applications. With a background in geography and meteorology, he explores how machine learning and quantum computing can be used to tackle real-world challenges.
He will conduct his research at the Chair of Embedded Systems (Prof. Dr. Matthias Kranz) from January to May 2026. His research project in Passau focuses on improving the accuracy and reliability of automated weather forecasting systems for drone operations by analyzing how errors propagate through different stages of the forecasting workflow.
Dr. Tali Blank is Senior Lecturer at the Tel Hai College in Israel. She has extensive experience in both management and entrepreneurship. Her research focuses on strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Chair of International Management & Social Entrepreneurship (Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort) will host her from February to September 2026.
Dr. Blank’s research in Passau will examine how sustainability commitment influences the performance of new ventures, focusing on the roles of institutional contexts and stakeholders such as investors and boards. By comparing Germany's sustainability-driven ecosystem with Israel, she will explore how varying factors shape the relationship between sustainability commitment and performance.
