Autumn 2025 Funding Round – Announcement of Approved Applications and Funded Events

Following the conclusion of the fall funding round, we are pleased to present the approved PICAIS Fellows and funded events. We sincerely thank all applicants for their outstanding submissions, which reflect the high standard of the projects proposed.

A total of three fellowships have been granted. The selected fellows will conduct their research projects at the University of Passau in 2026, further strengthening academic, interdisciplinary, and particularly international collaboration.

The following fellows and their projects were selected:

  • Dr. Tariq Daradkeh
    Yarmouk University, Jordan
    Research Project: AI Enabled Digital Twins for IoT Management and Digitalisation
  • Prof. Dr. Camilo Peña-Ramírez
    Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile
    Research Project: Digital Innovation Platforms for Smart Tourism Destinations: Advancing Sustainability, Governance, and Inclusive Participation in Latin America
  • Prof. Dr. Angela Cristiane Santos Póvoa
    Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, Brazil
    Research Project: Nudging Ambivalent Sustainable Choices: Cross-Cultural Insights on Consumer Responses to Upcycled Fish Skin

Within the PICAIS Event Funding programme, four events have been approved to promote exchange among international scholars and to strengthen dialogue on key academic and societal issues.

We look ahead with anticipation to the upcoming research stays and events and sincerely thank all applicants once more for their interest and engagement in the autumn funding round.
