Prof. Germano Glufke Reis (Federal University of Parana, Brasilien) forschte als PICAIS-Stipendiat von September bis Oktober 2023 und von März bis April 2024 in der Forschungsgruppe „Bioeconomy Economics“, die von Dr. Terese Venus geleitet wird. Das Thema seines Forschungsprojekts lautete: „Disruptive innivation and „hybrid“products: an economic perspective of the disruptive potential of different forms of cultivated (cell-based) meats”.
Gemeinsam mit Dr. Terese E. Venus veröffentlichte Prof. Reis den Artikel „Promises and uncertainties in the cultivated proteins market: Perspectives from Germany and Brazil“ in der Fachzeitschrift Food Policy.
Die Veröffentlichung zeigt, wie der Forschungsaufenthalt am PICAIS neue interdisziplinäre Impulse für die Analyse alternativer Proteine und zukünftiger Ernährungssysteme gesetzt hat. Sie beleuchtet Chancen und Unsicherheiten im wachsenden Markt kultivierter Proteine aus deutscher und brasilianischer Perspektive und liefert wichtige Erkenntnisse für Forschung, Politik und Praxis.
